Catz Couples

Had a delightful evening at St Catherine’s College, Oxford this week at a dinner for couples who had met at the college. It got me thinking about what helps couples stay together.  People often say compromise, communicate, make time for each other – all good advice.

For my husband and me, understanding our different communication styles through the Linda Berens’ Interaction Styles model, helped enormously.  Being aware of what drives our behaviour when we interact and of the potential for conflict between my husband’s “directing” style of communication, and my “informing” style, gave us major insights into how to get on better.

That’s why I wanted to share Interaction Styles more widely and why I wrote How to Get On with Anyone. To learn how Interaction Styles has helped others get on better, read new case studies here.
